One method for in vivo imaging is an photoacoustics imaging. In this method, by irradiation with pulsed laser light on contrast material administered to a living body, the material is expanded or shrunk by absorption of light, making ultrasonic wave visible with several detecters. If we use near infrared light which has high transparency as pulsed laser light, we can obtain high resolution image to the deep part of the organism. Our group prepared various organic nanoparticles which absorb near infrared light and evaluate their optical properties as well as imaging pictures.
